Books I Do Recommend! (To read for fun)

1

These are books that I have become eternally attached with and i want to share them with you. Simply because books have always been my friends and i want to share the knowledge and escape they have provided me.

1)    In the number one spot is a book that jumped to this place right after i have finished reading it and it is a must read for any heavy reader and for the light reader also! And the book is:

The Perks Of Being A Wallflower”  by Stephen  Chbosky.

2) The Anita Blake Series  by Laurell K. Hamilton

Vampires, Lycanthropes  (were-animals of various kinds), voodoo, zombies murder and erotica. This series never gets boring to me and I recommend it to anyone who loves fantasy and horror with erotica.

3) The Dark Hunter series by Sherrilyn Kenyon

Erotica, romance, comedy and mythology. This series packs serious romance but with warriors that know how to battle yet how to battle in bed.

4) The Hunger Games series by Suzanne Collins

Now despite its controversies with the film “Battle Royale (2001)”, The books Collins wrote happen to be taken to a more dystopian and sci-fi  level. I truly went through so many emotions through this series that it is hard not to recommend.

5) Zombies vs. Unicorns  (Holly black and Justine Larbalestier)

A compilation of stories of zombies, and unicorns.

no kidding this is the actual book cover.

I’ll leave this at seven because I’m just that random (this is an excuse for not remembering other titles).  I do hope you’ll some day pick up these books and enjoy reading them as much as I did.

You Press the Button and Photoshop Does the Rest

1

The title is the slogan for Kodak (founded in 1889). When the Brownie camera was available to everybody in the 1900’s. Yeah, this one:

With its simple controls and initial price of $1

it revolutionized the photography industry and put professional  photographers to worry. At this time anybody could take photographs  and sadly to say that has not changed to this very day, and it will probably keep on doing so. I am a photography major student and I’m pretty sure I could rant about how people get a camera and think they could do photography relying on Photoshop for the pictures sake. Charging ridiculous prices for horrible images with bad composition.  When I got into my first photography class which is Black and White film, i started to learn about how everything affects everything and especially the developing process. By that time I have never yet had held a professional camera in my life and it was the best moment in my life! I guess it’s like that to many photography students. See because that’s your weapon, that camera will produce the worst shots of your life, the lucky shots, and the I-busted-my-ass-taking-that-photograph-so-you-very-damn-well-love-it moment. And that’s how we learn. I remember the first picture i ever took with my Nikon N60 film camera. It was a sunflower that one of my best friends gave to me on valentines day. the lighting was beautiful, the shadows were perfect. So, I pressed the shutter button and took the photograph. I was intrigued at my final product when i developed that film later that day. I actually made extra copies of the sunflower photograph and gave it to my best friend to thank him for such a beautiful flower and made it immortal to me. Ever since then photography took a whole new meaning to me.

Graphic Design is not a photography class there for you are not a photographer! You are bamboozling people that do not know a thing about photography! A hobby person may know more photography than you. Just because you own a professional camera does not make you a professional photographer automatically.  IF YOU WERE A PHOTOGRAPHER AS YOU CLAIM YOU’LL KNOW THAT THE MOST EXPENSIVE CAMERA IS NOT NECESSARILY THE BEST! You simply press the button and that’s it and Photoshop does the rest.  You do not know how many true photographers you frustrate with you smug comments. Me as a future professional photographers I dedicate to you:

Pirates are the 21st century Robin Hoods.

I’m going to be blunt here. There are a lot of grey areas concerning Piracy. People are always saying how that’s bad, and illegal, and how I am bound to got to jail. My counter argument is this: It is only Illegal if I sell it forward for something i didn’t pay for. “But Joe it is still stealing from the person who made it.”  – the annoying person says. Well, you caught me there… NOT! The economy is really bad nowadays. I am not going to spend $30 on a DVD , which film i didn’t see in the movies! and renting it has become a nightmare and Netflix just doesn’t have the films I am interested in, EX: they only have Terminator 2! not even the first film, And I am way past broke to buy the film.  I hate when people steal yes! But Walmart doesn’t really have much!  Not to mention that Disney gives movies a certain months and then takes it away, so it creates more demand.

Wait Joe! You’re forgetting music!  Yeah about music! The music industry complains about us people pirating their songs or albums, well news flash if we like we will buy you! I remember when I was a really big fan of Good Charlotte… till the last album stunk so bad i was ashamed of such an album. And that is money I’ll never get back. It is frustrating for the music industry, but they don’t really care about their market target… us music listeners.

Books! depends on which book. Classical books are all around but since they bring out new editions and nicer looking books (which I do not mind at all) they get overly priced. sometimes there are sacrifices to be made. In the end I’ll still buy the copy.

In the end of all things there are reasons! Companies stop being greedy!

besides!
